Help & support

The questions people ask most.

Last updated 25 September 2026

Short, honest answers. If yours isn't here, a person reads every message: use Report a problem in the app (You → Settings → Help), or write to concierge@braxby.com.

1Does braxby read my email?

It doesn't ask for Gmail. Signing in with Google asks for your name, your email address and your calendar, and nothing else. Gmail access is switched off. If we ever offer it, it will be a separate request you can say no to, and everything works without it.

If you signed in with Microsoft, Outlook's sign-in does include permission to read mail. braxby uses it narrowly. It searches only for messages from ticketing, travel and booking senders, or with words like "ticket" or "reservation", from a recent window, at most 200 at a time. From each match it keeps a few facts (what, when, where) and never stores the email itself.

If you signed in with Apple or an email and password, braxby reads no mail at all.

The full detail is in section 3 of our privacy policy.

2How do I delete my data?

In the app, go to You → Settings → Account → Delete my account. Type your email address to confirm and it's done. It happens straight away, with nothing to approve and no grace period.

Everything goes in one step: your profile, braxby's access to your Google, Microsoft, Apple and Spotify accounts, your taste, your trips, your watches and your whole conversation with braxby. If you pay for Pro through braxby.com, that subscription is cancelled at the same moment.

Can't sign in? Go to braxby.com/delete-account and enter the address on the account. We'll email a link that deletes it when you click it. The link lasts 24 hours.

We can't undo a deletion. If you only want to stop paying, cancel instead, which keeps everything. You may also want to remove braxby from the connected apps in your Google, Microsoft or Apple account settings.

3Why is my city so quiet?

Usually one of two things.

braxby may not know where home is. Look at Home base in You → Taste. If it's blank or wrong, fix it there, or just tell braxby "I live in Leeds". Your picks rebuild for the new city.

Or our coverage there is still thin. braxby reads the big ticketing sites plus a hand-built list of venues and local listings for several hundred cities. That list is deep in some places and sparse in others. If yours is sparse, what you're seeing really is what we found. It isn't a fault. Use Report a problem to tell us your city. That tells us where to build next.

In the meantime, ask for something specific ("any jazz this weekend?", "is Khruangbin touring near me?"). That runs a fresh search, including the web, and often finds more than the feed shows.

4How do I cancel?

On the web, go to You → Plan → Manage plan. That opens our billing page, which Stripe runs, and you can cancel there in a couple of taps.

In your first 30 days there's nothing to cancel. They're free, with no card, and end on their own. Three days before, braxby tells you what it found for you in them.

Pro keeps running until the end of the period you've paid for. Then you move to Free and aren't charged again. If you added a card and are still in your free days, cancel before they end and you won't be charged at all.

In the iPhone or Android app, your plan is managed on braxby.com. Sign in there and follow the same steps. Deleting the app doesn't cancel anything.

Cancelling doesn't delete anything. Your taste, trips and history stay exactly as they are.

5Why didn't braxby say anything today?

Most often because nothing was good enough. braxby writes first only when it finds something worth your time. On a day when nothing clears that bar, it stays quiet on purpose rather than send you filler.

A few other things set the rhythm:

If a week goes by without a word, something may be wrong on our end. Please report it.

6braxby has my taste wrong

Tell it. Correcting it is the fastest way it learns, and every fix is one tap. In You → Taste you can:

On any note braxby sends you first, "More like this" and "Not my thing" steer the next one. You can also just say it in chat: "I'm really into comedy, prioritise it" or "stop prioritising techno".

Calendar history can mislead it: a work conference, a friend's gig you went to once. A few corrections early on make a big difference.

7An event I know about is missing

braxby searches the big ticketing sites (Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, Eventbrite and others) plus its own list of venues and local listings. Small venues that sell only through their own website are the most likely to slip through.

Ask for it by name in chat ("is Big Thief playing near me?"). That runs a fresh search that includes the web. If it isn't on sale yet, ask braxby to watch it and you'll hear when tickets appear.

Still missing? Report it with the venue or a link. We'll add the source, so it doesn't slip past anyone again.

8A question about billing

Pro belongs to your account, not your device, so once you have it, it works everywhere you sign in.

Your receipts, your card and your invoices are in You → Plan → Manage plan in the web app. If a payment fails, nothing switches off straight away. Update your card there and it sorts itself out.

Refunds: ask within 14 days of any charge and we'll refund it, no questions asked. Just write to concierge@braxby.com.

On Founding pricing, your price holds for as long as your subscription stays active. If you cancel, it may not be available again.

·Still stuck?

Write to a person. Use Report a problem in the app (You → Settings → Help, or "Something off?" under any reply) — it sends the details we'd otherwise have to ask you for, and shows you exactly what goes before it goes. Or email concierge@braxby.com. We usually reply within a couple of days.

Can't sign in at all? Email us from the address on your account. To erase the account without signing in, use braxby.com/delete-account.
